Architectural Drawings for Trentham Hall by Sir Charles Barry

Acquisition of a collection of 800 drawings spanning 1834-1914 by Sir Charles Barry (1795-1860), a leading architect of the early Victorian period. The collection is one of the most comprehensive surviving set of drawings for any English 19th century country house, charting the remodelling of the Trentham Hall and Gardens. Including nearly all the principal plans and elevations for the main house, the collection includes designs for the schools, lodges, kennels, police station and landscape gardens.
