Jewish Silver from the Great Synagogue

Acquisition of two Torah scrolls in silver cases with pointers made by Frederick Kandler, London 1756-1757 for Rabbi Fally the Ba'al Shem of London, 395x140mm. Parcel gilt rimmonium presented to the Great Synagogue by Elkias Levy. Made by Abraham de Oliveyra, London 1732, 457 x 438mm. Parcel gilt rimmonim made by Henry Green, London, 1789, 595mm The Great Synagogue, founded in 1692, was the largest and second oldest synagogue in 18th century England, It was rebuilt on a more handsome scale in 1790 in Houndsditch, but was destroyed in the 1941 Blitz.
