The Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) and National Galleries of Scotland (NGS) are delighted to announce the joint acquisition of Lorenzo Bartolini’s marble sculpture The Campbell Sisters Dancing a Waltz, made in Florence in about 1821.

The Victoria and Albert and National Galleries of Scotland jointly acquired Lorenzo Bartolini’s marble sculpture - The Campbell Sisters Dancing a Waltz. This exceptional work, made in Florence around 1821, had previously been subject to an export bar. The acquisition ensures that the piece will remain in the UK on public display.
