Melverley Farm, Shropshire

Acquisition of Melverley Farm, comprising 18.7 hectares of semi-improved neutral farmland in an industrial topography. The wildlife value is enhanced by a network of trees, hedgerows and scrubby patches and by wet hollows and ponds. The site is particularly important for invertebrates, with 639 species recorded including 3 Red Data Book species and 13 nationally scarce species. One field is managed for pasture and 8 fields are managed for hay with aftermath grazing.
