Ashwellthorpe Lower Wood, Norfolk

Acquisition of 37 hectares of ancient coppice and woodland. The woodland is recorded in the Domesday book and is now an SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest), having a continuous wooded history. Woodland type is oak, ash, and hornbeam woodland of national importance and with many usual ancient woodland features and excellent display ramsons (allium ursinum) and wood spurge (euphorbia amygdaloides).
