Foundling Museum

Endowment to ensure the long term care and accessibility of the collections of the Foundling Hospital: a nationally-important collection of British 18th century painting and decorative arts, originally assembled by Captain Thomas Coram, a friend of the artist William Hogarth. It was Hogarth who encouraged Coram to establish the Foundling Hospital as a place of care and refuge for abandoned and orphan children.
