Greywell Fen, Hampshire

Acquisition of 24 acres of Greywell Fen, near Basingstoke. Grade 1 SSSI (NCR site). The main part of the site consists of waterlogged alkaline peats, flanked by a chalk valley. It is dominated by Alder Carr trees but with large areas of grazed fen meadow and tall fen vegetation, including reed beds.
