Acquisition of a group of items relating to Wordsworth and Coleridge which had been in America for some years. Includes an album which belonged to Elizabeth Watson, a friend of Dora, Wordsworth's daughter. It contains 53 entries of prose and poetry of which the first and most important entry is by Wordsworth's own hand and is the earliest known version of his 72-line poem The Longest Day. It included the Beaumont watercolour of Peele Castle which Trustees had not supported on a previous application.
