Wedding Suit of James II

Acquisition of a 17th century man's suit, said to be the wedding suit of James II, then Duke of York, on his marriage to Mary of Modena in 1673.. Because of public opposition to the wedding, it was held by proxy and was not a state occasion. The suit is, therefore, an excellent example of fashionable, rather than formal, dress.
